Tatus Festival Brings Indigenous Music, Art, and Culture to the PNE This September

Canoe Cultures’ Tatus Festival returns to the PNE Fairgrounds September 4–5 with two days of Indigenous music, art, and culture.

Canoe Cultures is bringing the Tatus Festival back to the PNE Fairgrounds — two full days of Indigenous music, art, and culture, right in the middle of the city’s biggest fairgrounds.

Running September 4–5 in the Festival Park area of the PNE, Tatus brings together Indigenous artists and performers across disciplines — music, visual art, and cultural programming — in a setting that usually hosts rides and fair food rather than a dedicated Indigenous cultural festival.

Festivals like this one do more than program a weekend — they carve out visible, public space for Indigenous artists in a city built on unceded territory, at a scale and location (the PNE, a genuine Vancouver institution) that puts that work in front of people who might not otherwise seek it out. That visibility matters as much as the art itself.

Full artist lineup and hour-by-hour programming weren’t confirmed at post time — check Canoe Cultures’ own channels as the festival gets closer.

Planning to swing by the PNE for Tatus this year? Tell us who you’re most excited to catch.
